## What Tea Master does

- Selects the correct **water temperature** for every tea: green 70–80 °C, white 80–85 °C, oolong 85–95 °C, black 95–100 °C, pu-erh 95–100 °C.
- Sets the correct **leaf-to-water ratio**: typically 7 g per 100 ml for gongfu, lower for western.
- Walks you through every **infusion in a gongfu session**: up to 7 short pours, starting at 10 s and growing each round (15, 20, 30, 45, 60, 80 seconds).
- Switches any tea between **Chinese gongfu** and **International (Western)** brewing styles. Matcha and Cold Brew modes are also built in.
- Plays one of **six gentle timer sounds** (chime, bell, gong, etc.) and a haptic when an infusion finishes.
- Shows a **Live Activity** on the iPhone lock screen so you can leave the app open.
- Lets you **add your own teas** with a custom name, emoji icon and colour, and edit any tea's temperature, ratio and steep schedule.

### What is gongfu tea brewing?
Gongfu (Chinese: 工夫茶) is a brewing method that uses a small vessel, a high leaf-to-water ratio and several short infusions of 10–30 seconds each, instead of one long steep. Originating in China's Fujian and Guangdong provinces, it is the traditional way to brew Oolong, Pu-erh and aged teas, where each pour reveals a new layer of flavour.

### Is Tea Master free?
Yes. The base app is free to download. Premium starts at $0.99/month, $9.99/year or $24.99 lifetime.

### Does Tea Master work for Western-style brewing too?
Yes. Every tea can be flipped between Chinese gongfu and International (Western) modes. Western mode uses a longer single steep — typically 3–5 minutes — at a lower leaf ratio.

### Does Tea Master collect data?
No. Tea Master collects no personal data, has no ads, and does not require an account.

### Which devices does it support?
iPhone running iOS 17 or later. Live Activity and haptics are supported on iPhone 14 Pro and later.
